Why Mesenchymal Stem Cells? (MSCs)

MSCs or Mesenchymal Stem Cells are the youngest and highest-potential adult stem cells

The umbilical cord is an organ that supplies all the cells and nutrients a fetus needs for growth from the mother. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can differentiate into various human tissues such as bone, cartilage, fat, and muscle cells. UC-MSCs are the youngest and most potent stem cells that can be obtained from humans. Because they are undifferentiated, allogeneic cells, they carry a low risk of immune rejection or side effects.

Many studies indicate that umbilical cord tissue–derived stem cells have strong potential in treating various chronic medical conditions, including those involving muscles, nerves, and damaged tissues. These cells also possess a unique ability to rapidly differentiate and regenerate themselves. Therefore, due to these regenerative properties, MSCs are widely used for therapeutic purposes in treating immune and inflammatory diseases

How do we deliver MSCs to the body?

We deliver donor cells through 2 main methods, including:

  • Intravenously: by injecting the cells directly into a vien which allow them to circulatate throughout the body via bloodstream
  • Locally: by delivering the cells to a specific area such as muscles, joints, spinal cord

Dosages:

Intravenous (IV) infusion: In adults, 1-2 million cells per kilogram of body weight is recommended depeding on the patients condition such as age, health conditions

Local administration: the does range from 10 to 100 million cells, depeding on the patients condition and volume of liqud that can be injected safely

Expected time for the results

The effects of trestment vary between individuals.  However, for most conditions, patients typically begin to experience the maximum benefit within 1 to 3 months after the procedure

The positive effects can last 6 to 12 months, depending on factors such as the patient’s lifestyle, activity level, and overall health
